National Food Waste Strategy Feasibility Study Launch

Australia wastes 7.6 million  tonnes of food every year, with 51% in the consumption end of the supply chain. Households are throwing away between $2,000 and $2,500 worth of food per year.

The results of the National Food Waste Strategy Feasibility Study are in and yes, it is feasible to halve Australia’s food waste by 2030, but it will require unprecedented action by governments, industry and the community.

Join the team from the Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre, trading as FIAL, to learn how everyone in the food supply chain can contribute to recovering food and reducing waste.

The Hon Trevor Evans MP, Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management,  will launch the National Food Waste Strategy Feasibility Study.  Edge Environment, study consultants, will provide an overview of findings followed by a Panel providing research, state government and retail perspectives.
