  • Grow Green Tea with trade show success

Growing up, having green tea and matcha was part of the daily life for Directors Maria and Gaku. It was special and unique, perhaps they even took it for granted.

Gaku grew up with his family-owned green tea farms in Shizuoka, Japan. They have been harvesting and producing only the best quality green tea for over a century and have won multiple awards in Kawane Region.

Maria and Gaku now own Australia’s Grow Green Tea Company, a Japanese green tea company based in Sydney that specialises in wholesale to food service, branding their retail range matcha matcha as well as developing new products such as their matcha capsule range, frozen desserts, gelato, and soft serve ice cream range. They have an additional base in Japan so they export from Sydney and Japan depending on the product.

Attending the Singapore Trade Show with FIAL was excellent and we always find FIAL very supportive and organised with export connect stands being built, Maria says.

“Rod is always helpful in arranging and inviting us to trade shows. We find the extra day of tour around the local markets useful to get an insight into what is on the shelves etc when it comes to our retail product range, says Maria.

“FIAL has always been organised with NSW Investment, so we always get good communication and all questions answered.

“We participated in Gulfood and Singapore FHA which were both markets we are keen to start working with so found both very beneficial.

“We managed to get clients in Singapore and are in talks of setting up an entity there too shortly and with the Middle East, we’ve also managed to get good client.

Maria is firm that they will be involved in more trade shows in the coming years.
